was anyone there? i was. incase any of you dont know EDO is an arms factory in brighton which needs to be shut down to stop everyone ebing murdered in iraq and afghanistan. I missed alst eyars protest, which was a huge success, everyone managed to get down to the bomb factory because the police didnt take everyone seriously enough, and everyone got into EDO and literally smashed them. This year they had a lot more police so roads were blocked off and we were unable to get down to the bomb factory but it was still a very succesful protest. Theres some footage and a (very biased) news report here. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/8032579.stm

I've never heard of EDO before now, or Smash EDO.
I'm all for anti-war, but i don't see what good any of that would have done? Like really, to use violence to stop violence is hypocritical, and to call it a huge success is far from the truth. If it was a success the place would be shut down already, to have been attacked last year, and the same this year and still be open is enough to show this wasn't a success.
How long have these protests been going on for?

last year was the first proper smash edoprotest i think, btu they have weeklynoise demos outside the bomb factory every week.
and yesterday was mainly a peaceful protest, it only got slightly violent when protestors were wound up by police. so whatever happened to police was fully deserved.
It was a success because each year more people are beocming aware of how important expressing your views are, if more people keep realising that they have a voice, and say they dont want a bomb factory in their town its onyl a matter of time until the numbers are big enough to have EDO shut down.
People need to realise that this is our country and we will get what we want, and we shouldnt let un-elected leaders tell us what we can and can't do.

Ohh ok then, might be why iv'e not heard of it before, what with not being active for too long. I see, that makes sense, usually how protests turn out to be honest. Well hopefully it will get shut down in time then. The only thing i wasnt too keen on is the violence, but if that wasn't part of the plan to begin with, there's not much i can have against it.

if the polcie just let us amrch down to the bomb factory and not got in our way there would have been no reason for violence
